TR801 is China’s first nano-particle size analyzer based on the theory of dynamic light scattering. and the photon correlation spectrum. It’s measurable size range is 1-5000nm. Its core components are a high-speed digital correlator that we developed independently, and a high performance PMT. The measurements are quick; the resolution is high, and the results are accurate and reproducible.

Measurement principle:
this instrument uses the principle of dynamic light scattering and photon correlation spectrum technique. Particles’ sizes are measured according to their Brownian movement in liquids. Small particles move fast and big particles move slowly, and if a laser is illuminating these particles, particles of different sizes cause the fluctuation of different rate in the intensity of the scattered laser.
High sensitivity and SNR:
The high performance PMT has high sensitivity and high SNR, and this ensures the accuracy of the measurement results.
High resolution:
Measuring the particle sizes using PCS technique requires the capability to resolve the fluctuation in laser intensity in a few nano-seconds. The CR140 digital correlator we developed has a resolution of 8ns and high signal processing speed, and this laid a base for accurate measurements.
Fast calculating:
CR140 acquires data and calculates with a processing rate as fast as 125M. This ensures real-time measurements of the fluctuation.
Stable light path:
The light path uses a short-wavelength LD pump laser source and optical fibers to reduce the dimension of the system and to improve the resistance to disturbance.
Temperature control:
The temperature of the sample chamber is under the control of a semiconductor temperature control system. The precision of the temperature control is 0.1℃. Such a stable sample temperature is not to result in notable change of sample refractive index, viscosity and Brownian movement.
